Prof. Yongqin Zhang received the BSE degree in Electronics Science and Technology from Zhengzhou University, China, and the PhD degree in Communication and Information Systems from Wuhan University, China, in 2005 and 2010, respectively. He was an Assistant Research Fellow at the Institute of Biomedical and Health Engineering, Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China, from 2011 to 2012. From 2012 to 2014, he was a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Institute of Computer Science and Technology, Peking University, China. From 2014 to 2024, he was a Lecturer, Associate Professor, and Professor at the School of Information Science and Technology, Northwest University, China. He was also a Research Scholar at the Department of Radiology and BRIC, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA, from 2016 to 2018. He has authored or co-authored over 70 papers and 23 granted patents. He is currently a Professor at the School of Archaeology and Cultural Heritage, Zhengzhou University, China. He is an editorial board member or associate editor of five international journals, including Heritage Science. His research interests include machine learning, deep learning, image processing, computer vision, medical image analysis, and digital cultural heritage.
