Short Resume:

Dr. Luisa DE MARCO is an independent cultural heritage consultant. Luisa has over 25 years of experience in the cultural heritage sector. She has been acting as a World Heritage expert and advisor on behalf of ICOMOS International since 2006. She worked as a technical officer at the Ministry of Culture (Italy), between 2000 and 2020.
Luisa has developed expertise in the contemporary approaches and good practices on cultural heritage governance, management, protection and promotion, at the policy and site levels, especially in South-Eastern Europe, working in Albania, Georgia, Moldova, and Azerbaijan. She possesses knowledge of the technical aspects of tangible heritage preservation.
Luisa De Marco collaborates with several agencies, including ICOMOS, UNESCO, ICCROM, UNDP Moldova, USAID, the Autocephalous Patriarchate of Georgia, the Ministry of Antiquities and Tourism of Palestine, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and the Asian Development Bank. She holds an Honours University Degree in Architecture, a Master’s and a Ph.D. in Conservation of Built Heritage and Landscape. She attended training courses at ICCROM (ITUC-02 and ITUC-03) and at IAIA. She is the author of more than 30 publications on cultural heritage.
