Sujan Shrestha, Ph.D., P.Eng. is a Civil and Structural Engineer with over 15 years of international experience specializing in the conservation, assessment, and rehabilitation of heritage buildings. Before relocating to Canada in 2016, he served as a Structural Engineering Consultant for the UNESCO Kathmandu Office in Nepal, contributing to the conservation and restoration of heritage structures damaged by the 2015 Gorkha Earthquake.

Dr. Shrestha earned his Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from Sapienza University of Rome, Italy, in 2015 and completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Carleton University, Canada, in 2016. His research focuses on the digital documentation of cultural heritage using advanced technologies, including photogrammetry and laser scanning, as well as the structural assessment and analysis of existing and historic buildings.

Since joining Capital Conservation Services in 2019, Dr. Shrestha has worked as a Masonry Conservator on the Centre Block Rehabilitation Project and numerous other nationally significant heritage conservation projects. His expertise encompasses condition assessment, conservation planning, masonry rehabilitation, digital documentation, and the application of engineering principles to the preservation of culturally significant structures. He is committed to integrating scientific research, engineering practice, and conservation principles to ensure the long-term preservation of built heritage around the world.
