On the morning of October 26, the 4th Architectural Heritage Conservation and Restoration Expo opened in Suzhou. With the theme of "Protection and Inheritance, Science and Technology Empowerment, and People's Sharing", this exhibition is committed to creating a large-scale cultural heritage protection industry event integrating industry exhibitions, academic seminars, cultural lectures, release and promotion, craftsmanship display, and public experience.
Liu Yuzhu delivered a speech on behalf of the China Foundation for Cultural Heritage Protection. He pointed out that the theme of this year's expo is "Conservation and Inheritance, Science and Technology Empowerment, and People's Sharing", which aptly reflects the current goals and visions of cultural heritage protection, utilization and revitalization. The purpose of the development of cultural heritage is to meet the new expectations of the people for a better life, and to adhere to the people-centered development direction and realize the "people's sharing" of cultural heritage. Cultural heritage workers are required to go deep into reality from various aspects such as ideological understanding, value orientation, and responsibility, understand the needs of the public, and provide more public cultural products in combination with the cultural strategy of the party and the state. At the same time, cultural heritage is the common wealth of all mankind, and it is necessary to vigorously promote the "social participation" of cultural heritage.
Entrusted by Chairman Song Xinchao, Deng Chao delivered a speech on behalf of the China Association for the Protection of Historic Sites and Sites. The fundamental requirement of "protecting and inheriting, empowering technology, and sharing with the people" is closely aligned with the fundamental requirement of "continuing the Chinese cultural heritage, promoting the creative transformation and innovative development of excellent traditional Chinese culture". He proposed that the convening of this Expo in Suzhou is also a tribute to the achievements of Suzhou's creation of a national cultural relic protection and utilization demonstration zone. In 2020, Suzhou was selected into the list of the first six national cultural relics protection and utilization demonstration areas published by the National Cutural Heritage Administration. Since then, Suzhou has adhered to the principle of "serving the country with culture, building a city with culture, and promoting industry with culture". Suzhou, a famous city built in three years and integrating ancient and modern times, is the most magnificent exhibition hall of this ICIF. Suzhou's practice in the protection and utilization of cultural relics and buildings is the most vivid display of this ICIF. He introduced and reviewed the development footprint of China's accession to the International Council on Monuments and Sites and the establishment of the ICOMOS China over the past 30 years, and sincerely invited everyone to join the China Association for the Protection of Monuments and Sites and become a member of the ICOMOS.
