Short Resume:

Fauzia received a B.Arch (Pakistan) in 1975 and a M.Arch.A.S MIT, USA in 1980. She is currently Director of FHQ & Associates (SMC-PVT) Ltd. She has taught for 35 years and retired as Professor and Principal of National College of Arts in June 2011. She is currently President ICOMOS Pakistan for the term 2017-2020.
She has been very active with NGO’s and civil society organizations in particular related to heritage conservation issues. As private consultant she has been engaged in planning, conservation of the environment and more specifically the built heritage and architectural design of educational, institutional, commercial and residential buildings and interior design. She authored the policy document for Heritage Conservation for the Pakistan 1988. She has prepared Conservation and Management plans for three of the World Heritage sites of Pakistan –the Lahore Fort (2003), Shalimar Gardens (2006), Rohtas Fort (2006).
Authored a book ‘Multan: A Spiritual Legacy’, documenting architecture and history of 50 monuments of Multan, 2013. She has contributed chapters in numerous books including Pakistan’s Radioactive Decade, An Informal Cultural History of the 1970’s (2019, OUP), Punjab: Building the Land of Five Rivers, 2017, Marg Foundation), An Emancipated Place: 2000 Plus Women in Architecture (2000, HECAR Foundation).
