Dr. Chen YANG is Associate Professor in College of Architecture and Urban Planning (CAUP) at Tongji University. He received a bachelor degree (urban planning) from Tongji University in 2000, a Master degree (DPLG) in L'école nationale supérieure d'architecture de Nantes (ENSAN) and a PhD from L'École des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS) in France. Yang’s research is focused on community study/urban regeneration and urban history/heritage preservation. He is peer reviewer of several journals (Urban Planning Forum, China City Planning Review, Built heritage, etc.). He published recently a book for working class neighborhood in Shanghai: “From model community to Monumental Site: A Workers’ Village through History” (Tongji University Press, 2019).
