Jiayao Jiang holds a MA in Architectural Conservation from Sapienza University in Rome (Italy) and a MA in Architecture Design and Theory from Nanjing University (China). She has implemented several restoration projects in China and worked in diverse international institutions, such as the Palace Museum in Beijing, Bibliotheca Hertziana-Max Planck Institute in Rome, ICCROM (International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property) and UNESCO office in Amman. She has publications in Chinese and English in influential academic journals, such as 'Theory and practice of Italian urban conservation after World War II’' in Architectural Journal (CSSCI). Her research interests cover Historical Urban Landscape, urban morphology, post-conflict urban heritage studies and so on.
