Short Resume:

Ar. Choo works as the Principal Architect at the HENG Architect. He is the Chairman of the Heritage and Conservation Committee and a Council Member of the Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM) 2022-2023. He completed his postgraduate Master of Science in Sustainable Urban Design at the University of Technology Malaysia (UTM), and his postgraduate research paper on “Urban Pedestrian Linkages in the Heritage District of Kuala Lumpur” was published at the Union of International Architects (UIA) Congress 2017 Seoul, Korea.

Ar. Choo’s research focuses on urban and architectural heritage conservation, with particular attention to tangible cultural heritage. He is actively involved in the activities and programs of heritage and conservation-related, including organizing & participating in heritage courses, and workshops under the institute and reviewing architectural design studio projects for universities. He is also a Council Member of the Malaysian Urban Design Association (PEREKABANDAR) 2021-2024. His current work interests comprise urban design, heritage townscape, and disaster risk management on fire safety in heritage buildings.
