Climate change adaptation for cultural heritage preservation, creative and learning city development
Witiya Pittungnapoo is an Associate Professor in Faculty of Architecture, Art and Design, Naresuan University in Thailand. She completed her Ph.D. in town and regional planning from the University of Sheffield in the UK. Over a half decade Witiya has worked on water-based settlements by preserving vernacular architecture and water-based cultural landscape. Witiya is an active researcher who has contributed her knowledge and planning skills across multi-disciplines to build up international research collaboration on flooding adaptation for cultural heritage preservation in more resilient approaches; particularly in pushing climate change policy into cultural heritage sector in the Lower Northern Region of Thailand. Witiya is a founder of the Climate Change Adaptation for Cultural Heritage Preservation (CCACHP) Research Unit at Naresuan Faculty of Architecture, July 2021. Her current researches focus more on Designing with Water and Nature-based Solutions for climate change adaptation and cultural heritage preservation under collaboration with the UK and overseas research institutes.
