Farnaz Faraji is a researcher in heritage and cultural landscapes, a PhD candidate for HERILAND in Heritage and Landscapes at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and an Early Stage researcher at Newcastle University. This project is supported by Marie Sklodowska- Curie International Training Networks and the European Union’s Horizon 2020 grants. In recent years, she has had diverse roles in research and urban conservation practice, mostly focused in Tehran, Iran. She was responsible for the management of a number of research grants such as the study of the Architectural Industrial Heritage of Tehran, and the Lalehzar Street in Tehran. For the later project, she was also working as an architectural conservation architect. Her doctoral research is mainly focused on the Iranian migrants' translation of landscape characterisation dealing with British landscape policies. She is enthusiastic about working with local and marginalised communities in terms of engagement and participation to develop management frameworks.
