I possess a Master of Education and Bachelor of Education degrees respectively from La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia and the University of Goroka in Papua New Guinea. By the end of 2019 I will have served in the PNG Public Service system for 18 years. Within the 18 years I've occupied various positions both at the secondary and tertiary institutions in PNG including secondary school teaching, school administrator, college lecturer and as UNESCO Programme Director .
I have also undertaken various short term training courses within the field of education and other areas including the Training Workshop on Heritage/Environmental Impact Assessments for the Pacific Island States.
Currently I perform as Director-Culture & Heritage Programme for the PNG National Commission for UNESCO, a position which I resumed in 2015. I have also assisted in implementing activities within the Education Programme Sector. This included the PNG Country Survey Report prepared for UNESCO & the Commonwealth Tertiary Education Facility, Malaysia on the TVET Mapping Skills Development and Lifelong Learning Pathways in Papua New Guinea.
Skills and qualities I possess include team building, leadership and management, computing, supervisory, mentoring and counselling capabilities, research & reporting, curriculum design/development & implementation, and an adequate understanding of the UN and UNESCO System.
