Short Resume:

Chartered Architect and an Attorney at Law by profession and the immediate past President of ICOMOS – Sri Lanka and Assistant Secretary General of the National Trust Sri Lanka. I received B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Architecture from University of Moratuwa. Became an Attorney at Law of Supreme Courts of Sri Lanka in 2017. I am currently a private practitioner and a visiting lecturer. I am also a specialist in the field of heritage conservation and management. Had my international training in Architectural Conservation at ICCROM- Rome in 1994, Special Postgraduate Diploma in Integrated Urban Revitalization and Heritage at IHS, the Netherlands in 1995, participated in the Workshop on World Heritage in Young Hands held in Delhi, India in 1999, Advance Course on Conservation and Restoration Techniques of Traditional Architecture for the Asia-Pacific Region, at WHITRAP, Suzhou, China in 2010, Management and Conservation of World Heritage Sites in UNITAR Hiroshima, Japan in 2010, the course on Urban Heritage Strategies at IHS, the Netherlands in 2011. Prior to establishing my own architectural practice, I served in the Central Cultural Fund during 1986 and 2002 held positions of Conservation Officer and Project Manager at Kandy and Sigiriya and was an Assistant Director and the Director Conservation of Jetavana Project at the time of resigning. I was a key team member to draft the nomination document to enlist ‘Seruwila to Sri Pada Ancient Pilgrim Route to tentative List of WH in 2010. I was a resource person at the SAARC Workshop on Management Systems of World Heritage Sites in South Asia held in Islamabad, Pakistan in 2013. Now serving as a visiting lecturer at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, and Moratuwa and Government Technical College and an appointed member to the Board of Galle Heritage Foundation.
