2023 HeritAP Chat on Implementing the Action Plan of the 3rd Cycle of Periodic Reporting in Asia and the Pacific I

Keywords: HeritAP Chat The 3rd Cycle of Periodic Reporting in Asia and the Pacific
Periodic Reporting is one of the core monitoring mechanisms of the World Heritage Convention. Every six to eight years or so, the States Parties are invited to submit to the World Heritage Committee a Periodic Report on the application of the World Heritage Convention in their territory. The 3rd cycle of Periodic Reporting was completed in 2021, involving all National Focal Points, site managers and Category 2 Centres from the 44 States Parties from the region at the time. The Periodic Report for Asia and the Pacific with the associated Regional Framework Action Plan (2023-2030) was presented at the extended 45th session of the World Heritage Committee where it was endorsed.

The 5th HeritAP Chat will be dedicated to review the exercise, outcome and action plan of the 3rd Cycle of Periodic Reporting in Asia and the Pacific region. Like in the previous cycle, we will discuss the implementation of various components of the Action Plan (2023-2030) with a view to identify potential partners. Its main focus will be the role of the WHITRAP and the other agencies namely WHC, Advisory Bodies (ICCROM, ICOMOS and IUCN) and C2Cs in APA and enhancing the networking to implement the Regional Framework Action Plan (2023-2030).
